Sake

Sake is an alcoholic drink made from fermented rice that originated in Japan over a millennium ago. Often referred to as nihonshu (日本酒) in Japanese, it has increased in popularity as interest in Japanese culture and cuisine has grown, and it is now a beloved and familiar drink around the world. In Japan there are hundreds of sake producers, with many sakes made lovingly by hand by the same family owned brewery for hundreds of years. Each craft sake is as unique and distinct as the world’s finest wines, with a tremendous range of flavors and qualities depending on the maker.
At Kojima Travel, we can arrange private visits to boutique sake breweries where you can experience tastings of fresh, before bottling. Or we can organize a tasting with a certified sake master who can show you the art of drinking sake and introduce you to the delightful, complex, and historic world of sake!
